The appraisal committee, consisting of brewers, hop traders, hop growers and the agricultural administration, once again inspected 25 hop gardens. On a total acreage of 1,528.28 ha, including 23.60 ha of young hops, a yield of 58,300 centners (2,915 tonnes) was estimated. This corresponds to a total average yield by old area of 38.8 centners/ha (1.9 tonnes/ha). The growing year 2024 has so far been characterised by above-average rainfall. With just under 1,100 litres so far (470 litres in May and June alone), this already corresponds to a full year's rainfall. Above-average precipitation was a challenge in terms of plant protection and operations. At the same time, they are expected to produce good contents. The crops are healthy and vigorous. The harvest begins in the last days of August.
