The Tettnang hop growing region is experiencing its 10th consecutive year of growth since 2014. The cultivation area in 2023 increases by 20 hectares (a 1.3% increase) to a total of 1,516 hectares. The hop acreage will increase of the varieties Perle, Herkules, Hall. Tradition, while there are slight decreases of Tettnanger and Amarillo. All other varieties remain more or less stable. There are 30 different varieties being cultivated. The global market share remains at around 2.5% of the worldwide hop cultivation area of approximately 60,000 hectares. Approximately 70% of the harvested quantities, ranging from 2,500 to 3,000 tons, are produced sustainably certified.
